Bathroom & Kitchen Remodeling in Murfreesboro, TN

Half an hour up I-24 from Manchester. From century-old homes near the Public Square to 2004 builds in Blackman, we set tile in both.

Remodeling in Murfreesboro

Two housing markets,
one city.

Murfreesboro is a straight half-hour up I-24 from our Manchester shop. It is the Rutherford County seat, the sixth-largest city in Tennessee, and it added 13.9 percent to its population between the 2020 census and 2026. That puts about 175,000 people in the city and more than 340,000 in the county, still climbing better than two percent a year.

The ZIP codes tell you what each part of town needs. Housing in 37130, the older east side around the Public Square, went up through the eighties and nineties. North into 37129 the stock runs nineties and two-thousands. Southwest through Blackman and the Salem corridor in 37128 it is newer again, and still going up.

That spread is the whole job description. A 1985 bathroom in 37130 is forty years old and every part of it aged out at the same time: the pan, the surround, the vanity, the 4-inch wall tile. A 2004 bathroom in Blackman is on its first remodel, where the builder-grade shower pan and the garden tub nobody fills are the two things that gave up early. We take both.

The median resident here is thirty-two and the median household earns about $80,000. Young families in their first or second house, doing one room at a time. That is who calls us, and one room done all the way is how we like to work.

Around Murfreesboro

We take projects from the downtown historic blocks out through Blackman, Gateway near The Avenue, and the growth around Salem and 37128. MTSU rentals, family homes, new construction. If it needs tile set right, it is our kind of job.

Older houses near the Square ask for a lighter hand. A bathroom in a 1910 house has to come up to modern waterproofing without losing the trim, the door casings, and the proportions that make the house worth owning. We rebuild the wet parts to current standard and leave the character alone.

Newer subdivisions ask for the opposite. The framing is sound and the layout works, so the job is stripping out finishes that were the cheapest option on the builder’s list and replacing them with something you picked.

Murfreesboro is a drive for us, and we quote the job, not the mileage. There is no travel line on the estimate, and Tyler and Brian still run the project start to finish.

Local questions

Straight answers.

Murfreesboro is thirty minutes out. Do you charge a travel fee?

No. Murfreesboro is a regular part of our service area, straight up I-24. We quote the job, not the drive, and the price on your estimate is the price you pay.

Can you work on an older home near the Square?

Some of our favorite work. We modernize the waterproofing and the substrate behind the tile, which is where a hundred-year-old bathroom gives out, and keep the trim and proportions that make the room worth saving.

Do you do kitchens in Murfreesboro, or only bathrooms?

Both. Kitchens are a third of what we build. Cabinets and countertops coordinated, backsplash tied to the counter, layout planned around the way you cook. The tile work is the same standard we put in a shower.

Our house is a 2004 build in Blackman and the master shower pan is leaking. Is that common?

Common enough that it is most of what we see from that era. Builders priced those pans and surrounds to pass inspection, and twenty years is about when they give up. The repair is a rebuild of the pan and the first four feet of wall, because water has been getting behind the tile since before you noticed it.

We are budgeting a bathroom in Murfreesboro. Where do the numbers land?

A half-bath refresh starts around $4,500 and a full bathroom runs $12,000 to $22,000. Master suites and kitchens go up from there with scope. You get one fixed price before we start, and that number holds.

Do you build bathroom additions?

No. We remodel rooms that exist. Framing an addition, pouring a footing, and tying into the roof is a different trade, and pretending otherwise would waste your time and ours. If the room is already there, we will make it the best room in the house.
