The tub
nobody fills.
Count the last time anyone in your house filled the master tub. For most Middle Tennessee homeowners the answer runs to years. It holds the best forty square feet in the room, and every morning you step over a fourteen-inch wall to take a shower inside it.
This is the job Bluerock gets called for more than any other. Take the tub out, rebuild the space as a shower built for the way you use the room, and stop climbing into a basin to rinse off.
Most of a tub-to-shower swap is waterproofing work. The pan, the curb, and the first four feet of wall are where a bathroom leaks, and none of it is visible once the tile goes on. We build that part the slow way and set tile over it the same day it passes our own check.
The five days,

Day one: demo
The tub, the surround, and the old backer come out, and we take everything to the dump. That is in the price we quoted you.
Days two and three: the part you never see
Framing corrected where it needs it, the drain reset, Schluter waterproofing over the pan and up the walls, and a flood test before a single tile is cut.
Days four and five: tile
Tyler and Brian cut and set every piece by hand. 1/16-inch grout lines, a recessed niche sized to the bottles on your shelf now, color-matched silicone on every inside corner.
Curbed or curbless
A curbless pan pitches to the drain across the whole floor and gives you a shower you walk into flat. We build either.
Grab bars, blocked properly
Bars land where the blocking went in, so we settle their position on day two while the walls are still open.
Niches and benches
Sized around what you keep in the shower, tiled to match, and pitched so water leaves instead of sitting.

Straight answers.
Do I lose the only tub in the house?
If it is the only tub under your roof and you have small kids or plan to sell inside a couple of years, keep one somewhere. Buyers with toddlers still look for it. When the house has a second tub in the hall bath, converting the master costs you nothing on resale and gives you a room you use twice a day.
We have one bathroom and you are converting it. How long is it down?
Five days for a standard conversion, demo to walk-through. We give you the number before we start and we do not stack your job behind three others. If the house has one bathroom, tell us at the quote and we sequence the work so the toilet goes back the same evening.
Can you put a shower where the tub was without moving the plumbing?
Most of the time. A standard alcove tub and a shower share the same wet wall, so the supply lines stay put and we reset the drain a few inches. We open the wall at the quote stage when we can, so the price you sign reflects what is back there.
Can you add grab bars without the bathroom looking like a hospital?
Yes. We block the walls during framing so the bars anchor into wood rather than a hollow cavity, then match the finish to your fixtures. Two of the showers in our gallery have grab bars and most people do not spot them.
